STRANGER THAN FICTION ?
So, I watched yesterday a few “documentaries” about Jesus. In each of them they want to put doubt in your mind about the 4 Gospel’s. Like they supposed to be there and be eye witnesses, but they all have a different account of what happened in those days.
I am watching this and thinking well….people are eye witnesses to car accidents and they come up with totally different accounts. They all right but they all see things that perhaps the other didnt see or paid attention to it. Or they didnt think that what one thought was of importance, the other thought it was of high importance.
After I watched those “documentaries”, I kept thinking about why they keep on trying to discredit the Bible and even Jesus?
So I sit here and read my buddy’s blog, she talked about the Movie “Stranger than Fiction”. She said it isnt your moneys worth to watch this. Hmmm, I never saw the Movie so I cant talk about it.
Later on I went on “tagsurfer” and there was someone robsharpe , who had a total different opinion. Now this made me put in the search engine the movie name and there I found a few more people who talk about this movie.
http://www.72dpiintheshade.com/2007/02/15/designer-movie-stranger-than-fiction/ …
and yet another on http://www.kpbs.org/blogs/movies/2006/11/10/stranger-than-fiction/
So, here I am thinking all this people watched the same Movie, but everyone has in one way or another a different view. They put their emphasis on different things in the same movie.
So, why cant those people who so hard to discredit the Bible see it like I do?
I think Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were there and were witnesses, but they each had their own perspective about what they saw. And that is reflected in their writings.
But they keep on keeping on about this. They cant let it rest. Everytime you turn around another “Documentary” from some so called scholar try to distort the Bible, and Jesus. What they dont see is, that the Bible is written with no errors, there is nothing to be left out, and nothing to be added to it.
So fellow bloggers, am I wrong here?
I could be, I am just happen to think of it.

Greetings. You have addressed this perftectly. Each gospel has a different and equally important perspective of the events that transpired when Jesus was on earth. Together they give us a more complete picture than if we had only one or two. great and timely post as many today will try to discredit the bible and remove God from their memory. Thanks for posting this.
Have a great day in Christ.

You are right on target Andrea when you say the bible has no errors and nothing needs to be added or taken away. You stay focused on the scripture for your truth. People read the same passage of scripture and have differences of opinion as to what it means. That’s why it is important to study the bible with other christians. You will have your understanding, commentaries, church history, theologians, ect. If the majority of what others are saying a passage means contridicts what you think, then you may be understanding the passage wrong. Hope to see ya Thursday.

Great post! You hit the nail on the head, Andrea! This has been something that’s been explained to people like you’re talking about with these documentaries for a long time but they don’t listen. Wouldn’t they think it should be questioned more if it EVERYTHING they said was exactly the same? People don’t give accounts of something in exactly the same way as someone else! Just as you said, when people tell of something they were a witness to they will all tell a story a little bit different from the other people. They all saw the same thing but their perspective was different. For example, in the Bible Matthew wrote his gospel for Jews from a Jewish prospective so there are things in there that meant something to the Jews that might not have meant the same to the Gentiles. That doesn’t mean that his gospel is wrong because it might have something that the other gospels don’t or vice versa it means he was writing to his audience what they would understand. If we have faith that the Bible is the inspired word of God then we understand this and believe. I hope I’ve made sense here and that I’m not just rambling.
Thanks for the great post – I’m glad my movie critique helped out with what you were saying! haha!

Andrea
For what it’s worth. I thought Stranger Than Fiction was a good movie. But I have odd tastes in movies. Just ask Laura. : )

Chris, I don’t know if you looked at my post about this (my blog is the one Andrea referred to in this post
) but I got to thinking after I wrote the post and then someone commented and I shared with him that I think I didn’t like the movie because I didn’t know what to expect. I went into it thinking it was going to be a typical Will Ferrell movie and that it was not! haha! I think if I’d gone into it with different expectations I might have liked it better.
