Oh Andrea! Look at all those sweet faces-shining before the Father and praising Him for deliverance. It made me cry too. Thank you!

When I was bringing up this site, my cookie blocker asked me at least 7 times if I wanted to allow your site to leave a cookie on my computer.
This is excessive even for secular web sites! Most try to leave 2-3, but 7 is absurd and makes me suspect you are not the Christian this site indicates. I can’t see Jesus allowing His Disciples to spy on others or collect information from others for profit.
Shame on you!
Rex

Rex,
this is absurd! Do you see all the comments that have been left for this video? I dont see no complaints oter than yours on here.
IF anyone had the same experience as Rex did, please let me know so we can get to the bottom of this.
A bit of harsh words I think

Mr. Phipps pointed out how John Newton was a slave ship captain and then
wrote the song. He did not mention how John was inspired to act after the song.
When John said, “I once was blind, but now I see”
*John Newton 1725-1807 was a slave ship captain
who experienced a religious conversion en route to America.
Newton turned his ship around and returned to Africa freeing his human cargo!
Why was this information left out of the presentation?

This is the first time I have ever heard of Wintley Phipps, and I have to say he has the most amazing voice I have ever heard. I am now looking for more of his music. This version of Amazing Grace gave me goose pimples. Amazing, simply amazing.

I always cry when I hear that song but to hear it from Rev. Phipps throat made me talk to God for the first time in a long time. I know God speaks through Rev.Phipps throat. He is a wonderful man and I thank God for him. Maybe God ‘ain’t’ through with me yet either. Thank you so much.

I have never blogged before but felt compelled to do so after viewing this video.
It’s simply the GLORY of God!
“Behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I wil make known my words unto you.
Prov 1:23

This is music I can worship with. Call it old, traditional, whatever, it leads me closer to the Lord. Thank you Wintley, thank you Holy Spirit who guides me, thank you Jesus who died for me, thank you God who created me and created this music that helps me feel your presence. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen and Hallelujah!!!

I was glad I watched that program. It was an eye opener for me I have been trying to learn to play the piano and can play a few simple hymns. I have always has interest in singing Negro Spirituals as I sing with church choir and a Choral group.
I was never taught that negro Spirituals are written on the 5 black notes of the Piano- the Pentatonic Scale. This has arouse my interest ang gives me motivation to do some research.
Thanks for the inspiration

Praise the Lord!!!!
It is indeed HIS Amazing Grace that sustains me!!
I must refer you to another of Whitney’s performances in the New Orleans Homecoming!!
He speaks about how death came and took sister Caroline. Will move you to tears……even if you don’t know sister Caroline

Haven’t been to Church in awhile now, but regardless, feel my life is blessed, and growing in amazing grace, HalleluYah!
When I again heard this man’s voice, a friend with whom I have spent some quality time, tears spilled from out my eyes as if from my soul, as I was brought to the Throne of the Almighty by those anointed tones! Always that which comes forth from man is to bring the praise and the glory to the LORD and to His Christ; yet, I cannot help but thank God Almighty, to know right here on planet Earth, the only planet to have gone astray by Satan’s machinations at the Tree, there is a man who by his anointing, never fails but to draw me before the Throne as a suppliant sinner, seeking to give glory and receive grace, that I might overcome as I am asked to do, that I might live with the saints of all ages, and our God Who is Everything to me!

Does anyone know if there is a CD with the hymn Wintley sang at the Crystal Cathedral at Easter and was aired on Religion and Ethics today (4/12/09). The hymn begins with “Arise my love. Arise my love. The grave no longer has a hold on you.” Just blew me away and brought me to tears — “death has no sting …”
Thanks
